Date, week, month, moon on the second beat!

Alexander Shorokhoff already impressed with his first version of the full calendar called “Merkur”, a special watch that displays the date, day of the week and month in addition to the current time. In contrast to a simple date display, which only shows the current date, a full calendar offers a more comprehensive date function.

Now the second color variant comes into play and is in no way inferior to the first variant, but some details have changed in color. The dial, for example, has an impressive silver-colored appearance, enhanced by gold-colored accents and luminous hour markers. The name “Mercury” was inspired by our planet of the same name in the solar system. With its cratered surface, reminiscent of the moon, it blends harmoniously into the design of the new model.

The day is indicated by the central date hand with a red tip on the gold-colored date scale, while the day of the week and month appear at the 12 o’clock position.

In addition, the new “Full Calendar Merkur 2” offers a further function that displays the current moon phase at 6 o’clock. It shows what the moon looks like in the sky and what phase it is in. This has been designed as a representation of the moon as a small disk that moves slowly over the course of a month to show the different phases of the moon such as full moon, half moon, new moon and waning moon. At full moon, the orange “sphere” appears exactly in the center of the recess, opposite the mark for 29.5 days that the moon needs to orbit the earth once and pass through all its phases. The moon phase display is an aesthetic and traditional function in many wristwatches and is often integrated into watches for lovers of astronomical details or for watch collectors. The planet Mercury is located in close proximity to the sun and is therefore permanently exposed to solar radiation and solar winds. For this reason, the planet has a yellow-orange shimmer that perfectly matches the glowing orange moon phase as inspiration.

The color of the leather strap was also chosen with great care. A genuine crocodile strap with an engraved solid stainless steel pin buckle perfectly complements the cool dial with warm gold tones and vibrant orange, creating a balanced and appealing color palette.

Inside, the “Full Calendar Merkur 2” houses the Dubois Depraz DD9000 automatic caliber, whose hand-engraved and refined oscillating weight embodies the essence of master craftsmanship. With its blued screws and the precision of 25 precious stones adorning the movement, it is a true expression of precision and elegance. With a limited edition of only 31 pieces, the new model is a true rarity.
