From time to time, you will be approached about your “C01” from Alexander Shorokhoff. You need to keep that in mind, if you decide in favor of it. Because the large numbers 20, 40, 60 and the two contrary colored “eyes” at 3 and 9 o‘clock are inconspicuous eye-catchers.

With the “Emotio Due”, Alexander Shorokhoff presents an automatic watch that is inconspicuous at first glance, but has a lot to offer. The new model embodies technical features in a modern design. The result is a beautiful contrast: a modern dial in a classic stainless steel case with interesting functions.

The dial design of the “Emotio Due” offers numerous remarkable details. Although the embossed avant-garde pattern remains discreetly in the background, it is still clearly visible and lends the dial an extraordinary aesthetic. In the center, a wave-shaped pattern stands out from the rest of the design and forms the focal point of the most important design elements: the striking number 60, which is unusually placed at the 9 o’clock position, the off-center seconds and the company lettering. A closer look at the off-center seconds reveals that the zero position of the seconds is not at 12 o’clock as usual, but shifted to the left by around 15 seconds.

The two mother-of-pearl subdials give the watch its name. The upper subdial, designed in light mother-of-pearl, displays the date, while the lower subdial shows the power reserve in different mother-of-pearl colors. Despite their striking color, the dark yellow hands with a black decorative line blend harmoniously into the overall picture. The hour appliqués are also designed as high-quality, gold-plated elements and blend seamlessly into the overall picture.

At first glance, the watch may appear inconspicuous, but a closer look reveals numerous emotionally appealing details that have been designed with great attention to detail and creativity, creating a special fascination.

The case of the “Emotio Due” is a completely new development. With a diameter of 42 mm, it is remarkably flat for a hand-engraved automatic movement of caliber STP12-1. The rounded sides of the case and pushers give the watch an elegant and modern aesthetic. The front glass has also been innovatively developed. Unlike conventional domed sapphire crystals, this model has a cylindrical glass that provides an interesting contrast to the flat look of the case.

The watch is worn with a high-quality cowhide strap that perfectly matches the avant-garde, elegant look of the watch.

“La Mitad del Mundo” is an equatorial monument in San Antonio de Pichincha in Ecuador. The monument is located about 23 kilometers north of the capital Quito and marks the location where Charles Marie de La Condamine, traveling with a French expedition, determined the exact position of the equator as the first European in 1736.

The equinox at the equator, symbol of the beginning of spring and fall, is artistically interpreted in two semi rings on the dial, each of them representing 12 hours.

What catches the eye is the vibrant orange of the upper ring symbolizing heat and fire, and the warm blue of the lower ring, alluding to mild equator nights. Just like the equator, both of them enclose the ocean, which is implied by the gleaming light and dark mother-of-pearl.

Since the introduction of the new full calendar feature, the demand for extraordinary full calendar designs at Alexander Shorokhoff has skyrocketed. A full calendar in itself is nothing new, but no one does it like Alexander Shorokhoff. The bold color combinations and the unique subdials for month and weekday indications are truly special and reflect the avant-garde spirit of the Alzenau-based manufacture.

The first edition of the full calendar, called “CADAMOMO,” sold out in no time, paving the way for an impressive successor: “CADAMOMO BLACK.

The functions have remained the same, as this special automatic watch also provides information on the date, day of the week, month, and the current moon phase at the 6 o’clock position. It shows how the moon appears in the sky and in which phase it is. This is depicted by a small disc that moves slowly over the course of a month. The day is highlighted by a central yellow date hand with a blue tip. The day of the week is indicated by a small white ball at the 10 o’clock position, while the month is marked by a small white arrow at the 2 o’clock position.

The name “CADAMOMO” of the successor model is not chosen arbitrarily. A closer look at the letter pairs – CA-DA-MO-MO – reveals a rather artistic meaning. CA stands for “calendar,” DA for “day,” MO for “month,” and the second MO for “moon.” This is how this creative name came about.

At the heart of the “CADAMOMO BLACK” beats the DD9000 automatic caliber from Dubois Depraz. The three subdial discs for day, month, and moon have been modified by designer Alexander
Shorokhov and carefully reworked and assembled by the master watchmakers at Alexander Shorokhoff’s watchmanufactory. With its blued screws and the precision of 25 jewels that adorn the movement, it is a true expression of precision and elegance.

With a limited edition of only 50 pieces, the new model is a tribute to the avant-garde and the creative spirit of Alexander Shorokhov.

WHAT CONNECTS GOETHE AND KANDINSKY?

The colorful series of avant-garde – chronographs “Square & Round”.

The “Avant-garde” collection of “Alexander Shorokhoff” is set out by colors, shapes and abstractions. It is attractive to many painters, philosophers, poets, writers and other intellectuals. Kandinsky and Goethe were also inspired by it, and both even created their own color theory. The deep feeling of colors, the philosophical consideration of colors, but also their connection to forms and smells, made the teachings of these famous personalities world-famous. Alexander Shorokhov, the founder and designer of the brand “Alexander Shorokhoff” has again been inspired by colors.

In the new chronograph he plays with exactly these different colors, shapes and contrasts. The colors are clearly the main feature of the new series. For the red, a darker and stronger but still warm shade was chosen, black remains down-to-earth and serious and is realized in a semi-matte finish. The matching contrasting colors for the models are black and white. This not only creates a contrast in terms of color, but also emotionally. In this case, the contrasting shades of warm and cold are not contrary, but harmonize with each other and complement each other.

Certainly, these chronographs will not go unnoticed due to their colorfulness. In addition, their importance is further emphasized by the massive shape of a square case in 44.5 x 44.5 mm. However, the corners are rounded and relax the massive look a bit.

This color combination is produced with an automatic movement ETA 7753, which is elaborately revised, hand-engraved and refined at the “Alexander Shorokhoff” watch manufacture. The small technical wonder can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback. Furthermore, there is also an avant-garde ring on the back, which emphasizes the affiliation to the “Avantgarde” collection.

All chronographs are produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces per color and movement. The watches are dedicated to the anniversary year of the Manufacture.

VINTAGE 7

A RARE VINTAGE RARITY.

A true vintage watch is a rarity. Whether from renowned or lesser-known brands, they have become an indispensable part of today’s watch industry and are highly valued by watch collectors.

For the new model “Vintage 7”, a smaller case of 39.5 mm was chosen, just like in the 60s. The case was rounded on the sides for a more classic look. As always, the bezel and back were polished and the middle part was brushed. From both sides, front and back, the case is covered with spahir glasses. Special glass seals made of Hytrel and rubber gaskets for the bezel and back allow water resistance of 5 ATM.

The dials consist of three parts. The basic dial is made in silver color and a sunburst finish, the upper dial itself consists of two parts – above the 3-9 o’clock line and below the 3-9 o’clock line. They are made in red color. The shape of the two upper parts is not chosen randomly. They both have round recesses in the area at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock, as well as in the middle segment of the dial. In the outer recesses are placed important elements – the “Alexander Shorokhoff” symbol, the distinctive number 60 and the calendar. A small hour hand is placed in the middle segment.

It is this small hour hand, as well as the shape and colors of the upper parts of the dial, that make the watch so special. They convey the vintage feel in a soft and pleasant presentation.

The lower dial has two more time markers – for minutes in the outer part and for hours in the middle part. These hands are also made in the same size. For seconds, markers are made on the upper dials and for that, such large second hands are made. Two appliqués at 9 and 3 o’clock, also made in a vintage shape, complete the affiliation with the 60s.

The movement used is the Poljot caliber 2614 from the 60’s. It is completely disassembled, engraved, refined, re-oiled, assembled, adjusted and certified at Alexander Shorokhoff Manufacture. After that, you get a mechanical beauty. This can also be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.

All models of the “Vintage 7” collection are produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces per color and are dedicated to the 30th anniversary year of the manufacture.

Four seasons on one dial.

The new “Four Seasons” model is an exceptional creation from the Alexander Shorokhoff watch manufacture, unveiled for the first time at the WatchTime fair in Düsseldorf from October 27 to October 29, 2023.

A special dial was developed for this watch, distinguishing it from all other dials in the Alexander Shorokhoff collection. The idea was to bring the dial as close as possible to the front sapphire glass. Therefore, it measures a height of 2.4 mm, instead of the usual 0.4 mm. Due to the narrow space between the dial and the front glass, there is only room for the second hand. To integrate the hour and minute hands as well, the center of the dial was lowered in the form of a round recess. This allows the blued hour and minute hands to have sufficient space to make their rounds.

The watch has a size of 36 mm x 36 mm and features a mother-of-pearl dial in four colors. The dial design is avant-garde, with each color symbolizing a season and featuring a corresponding decorative design interpreted by designer Alexander Shorokhov. The green iridescent mother-of-pearl represents spring and the awakening of nature. The lighter mother-of-pearl area with circles symbolizes summer with avant-garde depictions of flowers. The dark blue mother-of-pearl represents winter, while the orange represents autumn, symbolizing the change in nature.

To add more emotion to the dial, the hour markers are designed in various executions. For example, there are two diamonds at the 7 and 10 o’clock positions, numbers at the 4 and 11 o’clock positions, and a star at the 1 o’clock position.

The case is made of stainless steel with two sapphire glasses. The central part is brushed, and the bezel and back are polished. Additionally, a hand-engraved ring is integrated on the back. The watch is water-resistant up to 3 ATM.

Inside the watch ticks an automatic caliber 2000-1 from ETA, featuring a hand-engraved and decorated rotor, blued screws, 20 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.

The distinctive light green ostrich leather strap, perfectly matching the dial’s color, adds an aesthetic touch of the highest level to this model. With a limited edition of only 30 pieces and an excellent price-performance ratio, this innovative model is a must-have for every watch enthusiast.
