The PZL TS-11 Iskra is a contemporary Polish training and combat aircraft. The prototype was flown in 1960. Serial production lasted from 1963 to 1987 ending with the production of 424 copies of this aircraft. Propulsion (since 1969) is provided by a single WSK SO-3 jet engine. The aircraft reaches a top speed of 720 km/h, with a maximum range of up to 1,250 kilometers. On-board armament is a single NS-23 or NR-23 cal. 23mm cannon.

With the widespread introduction of jet aircraft into the Polish aviation, the need to construct an adequate training aircraft arose. WSK “PZL Mielec” plant was responsible for its development and production, and its chief designer was Tadeusz Sołtyk. The new aircraft turned out to be a successful design with good performance, relatively low unreliability and low operating costs. In the course of series production, many variants of this aircraft were developed. The first in series production was the Iskra bis-A version, still powered by the SO-1 engine. Shortly thereafter, the Iskra bis-B version appeared, which was already a training-combat model with the possibility of taking underslung armament. Also entering service was the Iskra R version, a marine reconnaissance version, or the Iskra bis D, a training-combat version. There was also a civilian version without armament called Iskra Jet. Military users of the TS-11 Iskra aircraft were Poland and India. The civilian version of the aircraft went to, among others: the USA and Great Britain.

The direct inspiration for the watch was the direction indicator, which is one of the basic on-board clocks. We were inspired by the layout of this instrument and the way it was indicated. Of course, Xicorr spark is our interpretation of this clock.
